Building and construction projects are regularly being confronted with project delay and budget overrun. This research project investigates the relationship between (the regulation of) the competitive tendering of such projects on the one hand and the execution of the subsequent building contracts on the other. The purpose of this project is to contribute to a legal framework for both the competitive tendering and the contract execution stage that will enable the parties involved to better control (the consequences of) problems occurring in the course of building and construction projects.
