The topic of this research project is the public-private law divide. The goal is to find answers to questions such as: when is it permitted for the government to act with private law acts, and what kind of legal rules are applicable on these acts: e.g. private law, public law or a combination of both?
The Centre for Public Contract Law & Governance is an expert centre of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It focuses on government contracts, public procurement, distributing scarcity, public-private legal relationships, semi-public entities, and distribution of responsibilities on the market.
